B played in a game of Hail Caesar at our gaming club tonight, first game for all four players so a bit of a learning experiance. The Roman legions set of to destroy the local Ancient Britons fort. The terrain forced the romans up the middle which caused a bottle neck at the entrance to the fort. The britons had some early success on the flanks and slowed down the advance in the centre but the romans started to push the britons back as time went on. Time ran out and game was called a draw.
The rules played different frrom back powder with close combat being very decisive and ranged units being poor and very fragile. The game felt to big to manage not knowing the rules and some errors occured but the game was played with great humour and fun.
